Form over function, or function over form? These are the questions BlastPoint’s newest UI/UX Developer, Allison Jones, sleeps, eats and breathes every day. And we couldn’t be happier!
With a degree in industrial design, a background in fine arts, and experience living on a cattle ranch in Northern California, Allison Jones brings more than just a digital eye to her work on BlastPoint’s Dev Team.
Jones has gathered a unique perspective on front end development and user experience through her past work with such companies as NetBeez, Inc. and Astrobotic, and as a freelance consultant working with a wide array of clients for several years.
Delivering web design and photography that depicts moon rovers; creating graphic illustrations and maps for fantasy books; and cooking up a lot of Cuban cuisine in the Victorian house she’s renovating by herself, Jones has proven she’s a fast learner with an expansive skill set who’s eager to take on new challenges.
Here at BlastPoint, she’s hard at work improving functionality and streamlining our platform, so that our customers will enjoy a more user-friendly experience as we add features and capabilities.
“She is very interested in data visualization and creating tools that allow customers to easily gain insights,” explains Greg Osborn, BlastPoint’s Director of Engineering. “Data can be presented in misleading ways,” he says, “so Allison is focused on creating solutions that guard against drawing false conclusions for both presenters and consumers of data. With her experience and interests, she will be an asset to BlastPoint as we continue to mature both our platform and our company.”
Welcome to BlastPoint, Allison Jones. We’re so glad you’re here!
