The idea for developing a geolocation-based software tool that could be as easily accessible to sales teams as it would be for programmers came to Alison Alvarez early in 2015.
After several years guiding technology teams at successful startups around the country, Alvarez knew she wanted to leverage AI to strengthen businesses and communities in a whole new way.
With the support of the Pittsburgh tech community and her network at the Carnegie Mellon Tepper School of Business, Alvarez pitched her idea at a workshop. Tomer Borenstein, in attendance, loved what he heard and eagerly signed on to help Alvarez design the tool and build a marketable product.
Thus, BlastPoint was born.
- Alison Alvarez, CEO, and Tomer Borenstein, CTO, worked tirelessly together to develop a platform that ultimately won the 2016 McGinnis Venture Competition.
- Shortly thereafter, the co-founders joined Pittsburgh business accelerator AlphaLab and became finalists for the 2017 Forbes Funds UpPrize, as well as winning numerous other awards.
- As the support of enthusiastic investors and commitments from new customers began to pour in, Alvarez and Borenstein continued to strengthen their tool and grow their team.
- Today, BlastPoint is proud to deliver illuminating insights about people and places that drive business and strengthen communities in the utility, franchise, retail and nonprofit sectors.
