Behind the scenes here at BlastPoint, every Thursday morning we take a time-out from designing analytics tools to dive into the nuts and bolts of our marketing strategy. Surrounded by whiteboards, with so many notebooks in tow (actual paper ones as well as the electronic kind), we scratch down our creative to-do’s over coffee and tea.
Together, we are working to design and build a long-term, intentional framework that delivers the stories behind our company’s work and core values.
To further that end, and to keep up with the ever-flowing stream of ideas for engaging content, we’ve done what any software company worth its salt would do: we called in the storytellers!
As such, we are delighted to welcome copywriter Janeen Ellsworth to the BlastPoint family as our in-house Content Specialist.
Janeen actually helped us kick off 2019 back in January, only on a freelance basis. It became apparent shortly thereafter, however, that working together created such great chemistry and a lot of compelling content, so this summer we asked her to join our team for good—and she said yes!
Janeen has worked as a copywriter, ghost author, and blogger for the past four years on topics ranging from finance, education, and sustainability to construction and investing. Her work has appeared on numerous corporate and nonprofit websites, as well as in online magazines, including Forbes.com, and she also co-authored two fictional novels with a New York Times bestselling author. We are lucky to have a writer on our team with such a diverse scope of experience.
Prior to kicking off her writing career, Janeen spent 10 years as a judicial court stenographer, developing a keen understanding of the criminal justice system and legal strategy as well as sharpening her technical editing, transcription, and story arc skills.
She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Pittsburgh in English Writing, studying under renowned author and speaker Lee Gutkind, who is recognized nationally as the “Godfather of Creative Nonfiction.” Janeen later earned her Certificate of Court Reporting from the Community College of Allegheny County and certified as a Registered Professional Reporter through the National Court Reporters Association.
Welcome to the BlastPoint family, Janeen!
